Hello, I'm Nerys H.

I have worked as a Food Specialist and professional chef for over thirty years and just published my second book – Bwyd Cymru yn ei Dymor/ Welsh Food by Season which celebrates local, seasonal and sustainable food. This follows my first book - Cymru ar Blat/ Wales on a Plate which brings to life the traditions, lifestyles and cooking of Wales combined with more contemporary recipes based on Welsh produce. Wales on a Plate reached the shortlist of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2010. I am often seen on television and radio presenting and demonstrating food and drink themed items and have a regular cookery slot on Prynhawn Da, a magazine style programme on S4C. I run my own company - Howel Food Consultancy which offer creative services to the food and hospitality industry. Working closely with food and drink producers in addition to chefs and hospitality businesses across the UK. I have travelled extensively promoting and cooking Welsh food and drink working with retailers and restaurants from New York to Hong Kong!
