"Tapas & Tails" Welsh Rarebit & Old Fashioned
Friday 10th July - 18:00
About this class
Throughout the summer, we are easing into the weekend with Friday evening with some fun, creating a Tapas and Cocktail. This week we will create a Welsh Rarebit Tapa (a homage to the best I've ever had, served at St Johns, London) & an Old Fashioned Tail.
What you will learn
These sessions are designed to share tips and tricks which bring simple but delicious food together and create a great Friday evening experience while still in the comfort of our own homes.

Servings : (serves 1 - 2)
Tapas - Welsh Rarebit - a knob of butter - ½ tablespoon flour - 1 teaspoon English mustard - a good pinch of cayenne pepper - 100ml stout (Guinness for example) - a very good dash and a half of Worchester sauce or Henderson’s relish - 225g grated extra mature cheddar cheese - 2 fairly chunky lumps of cold toast – proper doorstep jobs, this is not the time to be feint hearted. Tail - Old Fashioned Another whisky based tail I’d advise bourbon as a must on this occasion, but feel free to go with whatever you have. - 2 measures Bourbon whisky - 1 teaspoon soft light brown sugar - loads of ice - a little piece of orange zest - a dash of bitters
Equipment needed
- a frying pan - a tumbler for the cocktail - ceramic dish (reasonably big)
